Backing on the canal
As you get closer to Bull's Bridge, the views become more residential. Houses back on to the canal, mixed with more green space. The canal wanders through Southall, but it also passes under major roadways. Like Ealing, Southall remained rural until the railways were built. Southall became a manufacturing area during the start of the 20th century, including manufacturing London buses.
Fronting the Canal
As the sun started to lower we passed yet another development on the canal. But this time, the main street and the houses fronted the canal and celebrated this historic and interesting part of the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal. After a long day at work, we imagine that it is nice to look out the front window at the canal to enjoy the canal boats that provide a changing view of the canal.
