Battersea Bridge and Chelsea Wharf

Battersea Bridge

The walk continues to Chelsea Wharf, but we ran out of enough light for pictures before we completed the walk. The original Battersea Bridge, was constructed in 1771-2 and built of wood. It replaced a ferry between Battersea and Chelsey. The present bridge replaced the wooden one in 1890.

Chelsea Wharf

While there are boats moored at Chelsea Wharf, it appears that most of the area has been recently redeveloped. We followed the suggestion of Peter Rudd in 100 Walks in Greater London to visit The Ferret and Firkin pub to end a very pleasent walk along the Thames.
