Provence Day One: Vaugines and Cucuron

Vaugines

As you leave Vaugines, you pass the Romanesque church at the Eastern end of the village. The churchyard is surrounded by plane trees and vegetation.

Cucuron
Cucuron

After walking past Vaugines, we made our way to the town of Cucuron. We stopped at a Café beside the pond in the center of the village. Like all of our lunches on this walk, we were overwhelmed with a buffet of superb food spread over three tables.

After lunch we climbed a small hill so that we could enjoy the great views of the Lubéron. In the picture above, you can see the bell tower in the town of Cucuron with views of the foothills of the Lubéron in the distance.
