Provence Day One: Vaugines

Vaugines

After walking all morning, we arrived at the hill-side town of Vaugines. Vaugines is typical of the towns that we saw during our walk. It is perched on the Grand Lubéron hillside, with a fountain overlooking views to the South.

The steep hillside provides interesting challenges to those that want to live in Vaugines. The streets are so narrow, that it is difficult to travel by car. This provides a pedestrian feeling to the town that as a group of walkers we found enjoyable. As you walk through the village, you get to feel like a voyeur as you peak in the street-level windows and see the laundry hanging above.
