Visiting in Levkas

Lunch
Danny, Kevin, and Adam choose lunch

The kids spent the morning playing together, while Karalee and I took some time off. We always find that we have more time to ourselves when we there are other children around.

Just before lunch, Deb from Nowornot and I, along with all of our combined six children went into Nidri, Levkas. The two families explored the town and we shared what little we had learned yesterday. We stopped for lunch at a local restaurant where we had inexpensive servings of pita wraps.

Nowornot and Dragonsinger are anchored about a kilometre from Nidri, so we all piled back into our dinghies after lunch and motored back to Omous Vlikho. We have met so few cruising families in our travels that each encounter is a special event. Spending time hanging out is a great way for the two families to get to know each other.

The other advantage of meeting another cruising family is that we all get to share each others toys. This can range from DVDs, to video games, to faster dinghies. On this day, all the Dragonsinger kids have a blast as the Nowornot kids tow them around the bay on their tube.

We play together all afternoon and have dinner apart -- new encounters with other cruising families are always intense and it helps to be apart for an hour or so. After dinner, we all dinghy back into town. We visit an Internet Cafe, explore the streets, and stop for ice cream. Then its time for all of us to head back to our boats. We climb into our dinghies and slowly motor our way through the darkness until we reach Nowornot and Dragonsinger peacefully at anchor. We say goodnight and all head back to our respective boats for an early night.
