Twenty Years Together
Karalee and David
Words seem inadequate to describe a relationship that has lasted twenty years. Twenty years ago we said our vows to each other in Vancouver and today we wake up together aboard Dragonsinger moored in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. We knew that boating would be one aspect of our lives as our wedding reception was at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club. But neither of us would have predicted twenty years ago that we would take a two-year break on the Mediterranean in a forty-three foot sailboat with three children.
The time has gone by incredibly fast. Neither of us can believe that we have really been married for twenty years, let alone be old enough to have a twelve-year old daughter. Time passes by quickly in lives that are rich and full of interest and excitement. We have had our share of disagreements, including many in the last year. We are at a crossroads in our lives and that brings additional challenges. But our love and communication have seen us through. We truly do try to listen to each other and if we don't, we are not afraid to let the other person know that they are not seeing the bigger picture. Every day we grow together and reach out with our family to see and do more things. The first twenty years have been a great ride together and we hope to keep working together and loving each other to have many more.
