After following the towpath along the
Thames, you will come
to the Barnes Railway Bridge. You can reduce the length of this
walk by a third by climbing the steps of the footbridge, crossing
over the Thames, turning right, and returning to Hammersmith. We
would suggest that for the little extra distance, you should continue
west along the towpath to Chiswick Bridge.
