Provence Day Five: Gordes

Gordes

We stayed overnight near the town of Gordes. The previous evening, we had clear views of the countryside and during our short ride from the winery we got a to see Gordes, perched on the hillside.

Such views were not to be what we saw during the last day of our walk. We were greeted with fog that enveloped the trails that we walked down from our hotel to the center of Gordes. As we walked, it wasn't that hard to imagine that we were three hundred years back in time shepherding our goats down the narrow trails in order to water them in the village.

Misty Walkway

After a shopping break in Gordes we continue on our way. The mist continued through the morning, but we got to enjoy misty walkways surrounded by fall plants. While we could not see too far, we did slow down and enjoy the many small things that make a walking tour so enjoyable.
