November 1, 2011: Back to Kathmandu
We took our time during our last morning at Machan Paradise. We had a midday flight back to Kathmandu, so we could spend time visiting, writing, and relaxing after breakfast. We had not slowed down for over two weeks since arriving in Nepal. We took the bus back to the airport at Bharatpur. A bus ride from Bharatpur to Kathmandu would take eighteen hours. Our twin turbo prop plane got us there in fifteen minutes. After safely arriving back in Kathmandu, we checked into the Shanghai Kathmandu hotel, which was to be our home for the rest of our stay.
Each of us did our own thing for lunch and during the afternoon. We met up as a group in the hotel lobby before dinner and went across the busy street to a local restaurant for dinner. A few of us were not certain our entire group were going to make it safely across the road each way, but in the end we did. After enjoying freshly made coffees in the hotel bar, we turned in around 9:30 pm.
