July 27, 2010: Knidos to Kuruca, Buku
We had a leisurely morning sleeping in, eating breakfast, and swimming. At noon we pulled up anchor and headed out for our next stop Kuruca, Buku. The wind was from the southwest -- unusual for this time of year, but a great direction for us.
We had the sails up, engines off, and were sailing along beautifully at more than six knots. We passed Ince Burnu to port with the Greek island of Simi to starboard. It was classic Mediterranean sailing with fifteen knots of wind as Van Kedisi sailed peacefully with the wind on the port quarter.
By late afternoon we were approaching Kuruca Buku. By 18:00 we had dropped anchor, set up on stern lines, and all of us went for a swim to cool off.
