May 5, 2002: Palma, School, and An Anniversary
David and Karalee
This trip has so many milestones and celebrations that it seems like one more could hardly matter. But on April 24th, David and Karalee celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary. At a time when most marriages seem to fail long before they reach double-digits, we can hardly believe that the time has gone by. We are fortunate that not only do we still have our love and friendship, but we also have a close relationship with our children which just grows stronger as we spend more time on Dragonsinger. We look forward to the adventures that we will get to share together as a couple and as a family while we cruise the Mediterranean.
David's Diary
Palma Beach (Cathedral in the background)
We have stayed in Palma through most of April waiting for boat work to be completed, enjoying the warm weather, and working on school. We have also spent more time exploring the island of Mallorca. You can read more about our adventures by checking out David's diary.
Kevin's School Work
An Alternative Classroom
It's Kevin's turn to have his school work be highlighted in our news page. There were a lot of things going on in the first half of Kevin's third term at school, so David created a longer Web-based report for David Anderson, Kevin's Greater Vancouver Distance Education School teacher.
Itinerary
We are ready to move on from Palma. While we have enjoyed our time here, we can now walk or drive without a map and still make it back to the boat. Even Karalee and the boys are ready to move on. We are just waiting for some gale force winds in the Western Mediterranean to settle down and we'll be on our way to Menorca. We hope to meet up with one or two other boats there, get more school work done, and then wait for a weather window that will take us to Corsica. Our itinerary is flexible, but right now it looks like:
May 6 - 15: | Visit Menorca |
May 15 - 30: | Possible crossing to Corsica. |
