January 15, 2002: Christmas In Barcelona
Barcelona, Spain
It has been a tremendous time since we last updated everyone. We have enjoyed the Port Vendres area in the south of France near the French/Spanish border, had snow on the boat, traveled to Spain, broke the boom on Dragonsinger, celebrated Christmas, seen the New Year arrive in Barcelon, and on New Year's Day David saved a person who had fallen into the marina. To see everything, read through David's diary.
If you just want a quick look at a few of the highlights from the last month (although every day seemed to be a highlight to us), take a look at these diary entries:
Kevin's Diary
Kevin On Christmas Day
Both Kevin and Jocelyn have been keeping their own diaries. Kevin decided to publish one of his diary entries on the Web describing our day in Banys-Sur-Mer, France.
School
Steve Lott
School has started again and we are getting back into the rhythm of daily school after a long Christmas break. Just before Christmas Jocelyn's Grade Seven teacher, Steve Lott, sent us a picture of himself. Steve works for the Greater Vancouver Distance Education School. He offers advice to both Jocelyn and David (Jocelyn's onboard teacher) on how to integrate the formal teaching materials with the things we are doing every day. Steve has led an interesting life and on our school Web page we have provided more background on Steve.
Itinerary
We are really enjoying Barcelona and still trying to decide where we want to go next. Depending on what we learn from the cruisers here in Barcelona, the weather picture, and how we are feeling we will adjust our schedule. For now it looks like:
Jan. 15 - Jan. 30: | Barcelona |
Jan. 31 - Feb. 28: | South of Barcelona, likely including Valencia and Alicante |
Mar. 1 - Mar. 30: | Balearic Islands |
