June 20, 2001: White Dragon and Launch Date
White Dragon
We have sold White Dragon our Catalina 34 sailboat. White Dragon has been a wonderful environment where we could spend three to four weeks every summer cruising up and down the West Coast of Canada with Jocelyn, Kevin, and Allen. We have traveled more than 3,000 nautical miles on White Dragon exploring the great variety of terrain that makes West Coast sailing so enjoyable.
Our journeys on White Dragon are closely tied to our family. Both Kevin and Allen spent there first sailing days on White Dragon and Jocelyn has spent ten or her eleven years aboard. We have many fond memories of the places that we have visited, the times we had together, and the challenges that we've met. But now it is time to let go and imagine ourselves cruising our new Jeanneau 43 DS.
Launch Date
The boat that we have ordered was first shown in the fall of 2000 and has proven to be very popular. Which means that we have to wait a bit before our boat is delivered. We currently plan to launch the boat around October 8, 2001 at Point St. Louis du Rhone. Point St. Louis du Rhone is located at the mouth of the Rhone river on the Mediterranean in the South of France.Itinerary
We leave Canada on Friday, June 29th. We decided to take a year off so that we could show our children a wide variety of different people, places, and cultures. While the boat won't be ready until early October, we decided that there are many things that we can show our children in Europe before the boat is ready.
