Mahon, Menorca to Palma de Mallorca, Spain
After gale force winds and rain yesterday, we headed out at day break with the goal of Palma di Mallorca. While the Balearic Islands of Spain are close together, they are far enough apart that they can create big swells from storms. After all the storms we had experienced, it was a relief to have a sunny day, even if we had to motor most of the way to Palma. At least the seas were not too big. After travelling a hundred nautical miles (almost 200 km) in one day, we tied up to the visitor's dock at Real Club Nautico in Palma after sunset. Once Dragonsinger was secured we headed into town for a late night dinner.
A sunny sea on our final passage
Off Mallorca, the largest Balearic Island
We start passing other sailboats
Approaching Cabo Blanca, S point of Mallorca
Marian enjoying some time off watch
The cliffs of the south coast of Mallorca
Bruce happy to be finishing our Mediterranean crossing
The sun sets on Dragonsinger's longest day passage
Twilight sees us into Palma
