School In The Sunshine
Cool Glasses
We are into a regular routine on Dragonsinger. We do school Monday to Friday and take weekends off. We start school at 8:00 or 8:30 and on good days are finished by lunch time, which for us is usually around 1:00 or 1:30. Besides doing school on a boat there are other hints we are not in our regular school rooms. After recess, Jocelyn and Kevin returned to the boat wearing their sunglasses. It was bright enough down below that they still needed them on.
Allen at School
School takes a remarkable amount of work from all of us, but it does have its compensations. Besides getting to spend lots of time with our children and getting to know them better, we get to do special things like going to the market for recess. And while formal school ends when their written work is completed, school never really ends. There are many teachable moments every day and we take advantage of them to increase both our children's and our own knowledge. Whether it is something we have seen on our travels, aspects of running the boat, or things that someone learned during the day, we share it all with each other.
