Goodbye To Paris
We Leave Paris (photo Pierre Senant)
With heavy hearts we left the area of Chevreuse south of Paris. We have spent most of the summer at the house of our close friends Pierre and Pascale Senant. Through their generosity we have been able to enjoy a century-old house with all the modern conveniences, and an expansive garden, in an area protected as parkland, all within an hour's drive of Paris and the major sights around it. It is rare to have such generous friends who happily provided us with an experience of a lifetime.
Disneyland Paris
Our next stop is The Netherlands, but we decided to surprise the children with a nighttime visit to Disneyland Paris. Because we were living more than an hour's drive from Disneyland we had not stayed late and enjoyed the electric light show and the fireworks. We booked a single night at a hotel nearby and spent what will likely be our last day and evening at the park.
Allen Drives the Race Car
Along with our regular favorites such as Thunder Mountain and The Phantom House, we did a spin on the racecars. Allen really enjoys being in control, even if I'm the one who can reach the gas pedal. Late in the evening we found a position near the magic castle and watched as the parade of electric lights marched past. Then it was time for tinker bell to make an appearance as the fireworks show started. It was a spectacular way to end our stay in Paris.
