Kevin Turns Ten in Paris
Kevin Celebrates His Birthday
Kevin turned ten today. We decided to celebrate his birthday at the home we are sharing south of Paris. After lunch Kevin and I headed to the Intermarche to shop for dinner. Kevin was going to get his pick of what he wanted.
We marched back and forth through the huge supermarket considering different choices. In the end, we had hamburgers with French fries, including ketchup, which we haven't had since coming to France. Hamburger buns were a challenge, so we bought a large loaf of bread that we could cut into slices big enough to hold a hamburger. We next searched for cheese. Cheddar being unavailable we settled on Swiss. And for cake we searched the store until Kevin settled on a chocolate frozen ice cream cake.
Kevin's Birthday Dinner
Before returning home, Kevin and I stopped in the cafe next to Intermarche. We had a relaxing drink before returning home to cook Kevin's special dinner. Before long we were all sitting around the table enjoying Kevin's choices. There was a slight delay while we turned the kitchen upside down looking for candles and matches. We were unsuccessful in our search, so Kevin had to settle for ice cream cake without the candles. But we still sang him Happy Birthday.
Happy Tenth Birthday Kevin.
