February Storms in Monastir

Winter Storm
Winter Storm

We have had storms on and off since we arrived in Monastir, but for the last few days we have had sustained winds. The waves are big enough that when some of them crash into the breakwater water is taken so high that it is blown over the breakwater. We are thankful that we are on the other side of the marina, well out of the waves and swell.

Raining Outside

During the storm rain sometimes falls down in sheets. We cuddle inside Dragonsinger listening to the sound of the rain falling on our windows. The sound reminds us of countless rainstorms we have been through in Vancouver in our previous two sailboats. Our view of the world is reduced to abstract outlines as the storm relentlessly beats down on the deck of our boat.
